On September 8, 2023, the SASE Research group welcomed a new undergraduate student to the team: Miss Efrata Daniel Woldeyohanes. Miss Efrata Daniel Woldeyohane is currently an undergraduate student at the Margaret A Gilliam Institute for Global Food Security on the Macdonald Campus, McGill University.

She has extensive knowledge and experience in diverse projects focused on growing nutrition for mothers and children in Ethiopia, strengthening the governance of gender-sensitive nutrition programs and approaches at the Federal, Regional, Zonal, and Woreda levels.

Miss Woldeyohane will be working on the Nutrition-Sensitive Programming research space with support from Mr. Prince Agyemang on the Food Safety for Africa project. In this project, she will study the current food safety risks and requirements for an inclusive food system. She will also investigate food safety agencies and indicators used for monitoring food safety at the continent and regional scale, focusing on South Africa and Ghana.

Miss Woldeyohane is passionate about research and initiatives focused on food security in Africa and is motivated by activities designed to help deal with the challenges facing the world in achieving food security for all. In her leisure time, she prefers photography, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
